Donkey Kong Country 3 SNES

Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong’s Double Trouble! Yes we had to finish what I think was the greatest console series ever released. The Donkey Kong Country series, DKC3 was released in 1996 for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. This third installment of the series features Dixie Kong as the main character, alongside her cousin Kiddy Kong, as they embark on a quest to rescue Donkey and Diddy Kong from the game’s villain, KAOS.

As with the previous games in the series, Donkey Kong Country 3 offers a mix of side-scrolling platforming and puzzle-solving. Players must navigate through different levels, collecting bananas and other items along the way, and defeating enemies. After Diddy’s Kong Quest expectations were high that this could only get better. Which in some eyes was a let down and to be fair it was still a great game but far from its previous sibblings.

Donkey Kong Country 3 Levels

Unlike DKC2, Donkey Kong Country 3 had a total of 7 worlds spanning across a total of 48 levels. The level design was there not as detailed as its previous brothers add to that the unique music which was a varied approach DKC3 was definitely its own game. Here are a list of levels:

  1. Lake Orangatanga: The starting world where players begin their adventure.
  2. Kremwood Forest: A forest-themed world with dense foliage and unique challenges.
  3. Cotton-Top Cove: A watery world with aquatic levels and underwater exploration.
  4. Mekanos: An industrial-themed world with mechanical contraptions and machinery.
  5. K3: A snowy and icy world with slippery surfaces and icy hazards.
  6. Pacifica: A secret world that players can unlock by completing certain tasks in the game.
  7. KAOS Kore: The final world where players face the ultimate boss, KAOS, in an intense showdown.

A brighter and unique take on the series the third installment was a great game while still being a blacksheep of the series. You have to experience it with an open mind.

Hardest Secret Levels To Find In Donkey Kong Country 3

Was DKC3 harder than the other two Snes games in the series? No, I think that still goest to DKC2 with animal antics being a hard bugger to beat. There are still a fair share of difficult levels here are some of the hardest secret levels to find in Donkey Kong Country 3:

Kong-Fused Cliffs: This challenging secret level is hidden within Cotton-Top Cove. Players must locate a hidden barrel near the start of the level and launch themselves to a hidden area. Precise timing and platforming skills are required to navigate through treacherous cliffs and avoid obstacles.

Rocket Rush: Found in Mekanos, this secret level demands precision and speed. Players need to activate a rocket barrel by quickly bouncing on barrels in a specific order. Once launched, they must maneuver through a fast-paced obstacle course, avoiding hazards and collecting items along the way.

Kastle KAOS: Located in KAOS Kore, this secret level serves as the final challenge before facing the game’s ultimate boss. Players must find a hidden entrance within the KAOS battle arena, granting them access to a treacherous platforming gauntlet filled with dangerous traps and enemies.

Skrappy’s Blueprints: Hidden in Pacifica, this secret level requires players to collect all 41 DK coins scattered throughout the game. Once all coins are obtained, a previously inaccessible area will unlock. Skrappy’s Blueprints is a challenging level featuring intricate platforming and cleverly designed obstacles.

Topsy-Turvy: This secret level is tucked away in the Kremwood Forest. Players must find an elusive hidden entrance, leading them to a world turned upside down. Gravity-defying mechanics and disorienting twists make Topsy-Turvy a mind-bending challenge that will test players’ reflexes and adaptability.

Each of these five secret levels presents a significant challenge and requires players to carefully explore the game’s worlds, searching for hidden entrances and mastering intricate platforming mechanics to uncover these elusive and demanding stages.

DKC3 Game Bugs & Glitches

We know you all love the glitches and bugs. Donkey Kong Country 3 is no different! Here are four of the biggest game bugs and glitches in DKC3:

Rolling Barrel Glitch: Picture this: Dixie or Kiddy Kong rolls a barrel, but instead of the barrel smashing enemies, it starts rolling endlessly without losing momentum. It’s like they’ve tapped into an infinite source of kinetic energy! This glitch adds a touch of whimsy to the gameplay as you watch the barrel merrily roll along, defying the laws of physics.

Barrel Teleportation Glitch: Ever wished you could teleport? In DKC3, a peculiar bug can make that dream come true. Sometimes, when you throw a barrel at the right angle near a wall or an edge, it mysteriously transports you to unexpected locations. It’s like hitching a ride on the barrel express and popping up in places you never thought possible.

Character Cloning Glitch: Imagine having twice the fun with double the Kongs! This glitch grants you the ability to clone Dixie or Kiddy Kong by triggering a specific sequence of actions. Suddenly, you find yourself accompanied by not one, but two identical Kongs, exploring levels and tackling challenges together. It’s a delightful and perplexing sight to behold!

Flying Dixie Glitch: Who needs a helicopter when you have the power of flight? In rare instances, Dixie Kong takes to the skies without her signature ponytail twirl. With a touch of magic, she hovers above the ground, defying gravity and soaring through levels effortlessly. It’s a sight that will make you smile and wonder if Dixie secretly has hidden avian aspirations.
