Super Nintendo 1996

F Zero

Okay I have to start by saying I still play this. Actually played it through for the first time in nearly twenty years just this past weekend. As you know great racing games were a rare commoditty for the Super Nintendo. That was all except for FZero, was released in 1991 in North America and a little later in Europe. I remember going to my local Blockbuster and repeatedly hiring this for a 7 day rental. Fzero Snes cheats were always scarce and for good reason. While showcasing the Snes system’s cutting-edge Mode 7 graphics and delivering an exhilarating racing experience like never before. The game had no seeable cheats builtin.

Set in the futuristic year 2560, F-Zero takes players into the adrenaline-pumping world of high-speed racing in the F-Zero Grand Prix. With advanced antigravity machines known as “F-Zero machines,” pilots from all corners of the galaxy compete for glory and fame in this intense racing championship.

I will start by saying there are no direct cheats for FZero unless you are using Game Genie codes or Action Replay. There are some great tips and hacks for levels to check out though!

F-Zero Controls

Mastering the controls in F-Zero is essential to success on the tracks. The SNES controller provides an intuitive layout for maneuvering your F-Zero machine with precision. The D-pad allows you to steer your vehicle left or right, while the A and B buttons serve as the accelerator and brake, respectively. Tapping the A button gives your machine a speed boost, but be cautious as boosting too often can cause damage to your craft.

In addition to the basic controls, F-Zero introduces the innovative “L” and “R” buttons on the SNES controller, which enable you to execute thrilling side attacks to knock opponents off the track. Mastering these techniques is crucial for gaining an edge over the competition and securing victory in the F-Zero Grand Prix. Regardless of the controls I always struggled (still do 20 years later).

F-Zero Tracks

F-Zero offers an exhilarating selection of tracks, each with its own unique challenges and obstacles. As you progress through the game, you’ll encounter a diverse range of environments, from futuristic cityscapes to treacherous natural landscapes. But the sound. Not sure if its just me but the Snes had some of the most amazing music and FZero tracks still amp me to this day. The game features a total of 15 tracks, and each one demands a different approach and strategy to emerge victorious.

Some tracks, like Mute City and Big Blue, have become iconic staples of the F-Zero franchise, known for their fast-paced straightaways and intense hairpin turns. Others, such as Sand Ocean and Red Canyon, offer challenging sections with tight corners and hazardous terrain. It is essential to familiarize yourself with each track’s layout to maintain top speed and avoid costly crashes.

What Are the Difficulty Levels in F-Zero?

F-Zero offers three distinct difficulty levels: Novice, Expert, and Master. Each level provides a different level of challenge, catering to players of various skill levels. Dont get it twisted I still stick to Novice (so I can finish all the tracks lol).

Novice: As the name suggests, the Novice difficulty is a perfect starting point for those new to F-Zero or racing games in general. The opponents in this mode offer a moderate challenge, making it easier to get familiar with the tracks and controls.

Expert: The Expert difficulty ramps up the challenge considerably, with opponents exhibiting more aggressive racing tactics and increased speed. Expect to face tougher competition and more aggressive side attacks as you race through the Grand Prix.

Master: Reserved for the most skilled and daring F-Zero pilots, the Master difficulty is the ultimate test of racing prowess. Here, you’ll encounter the most skilled opponents, driving their F-Zero machines at breakneck speeds and executing flawless racing lines. Only the most skilled players can conquer the Master difficulty and claim the title of F-Zero Champion.

What’s the Best Car in F-Zero?

When it comes to determining the best F-Zero machine, it largely depends on your playstyle and racing preferences. Each of the four starting machines – the Blue Falcon, Golden Fox, Wild Goose, and Fire Stingray – excels in specific areas.

Blue Falcon: The Blue Falcon is an all-around solid choice, providing a good balance of speed, acceleration, and handling. It’s an excellent choice for beginners and seasoned players alike.

Golden Fox: If you prioritize speed, the Golden Fox might be your ideal pick. It boasts one of the highest top speeds, making it a fierce competitor on long straightaways.

Wild Goose: For those who prefer nimble handling and tight cornering, the Wild Goose is the machine to choose. Its excellent maneuverability allows for precise control around bends and curves.

Fire Stingray: The Fire Stingray offers a high body strength, making it more resistant to damage from collisions and attacks. If you find yourself getting knocked around frequently, the Fire Stingray can provide a sturdier racing experience.

Try them all out for yourself I’ve dabbled at Golden Fox more of late and still love it. Each to their own – enjoy the game still holds up in 2023!
