We’re all about honesty here at Graveyard Video games and I will be strait up with all our readers. Super Mario RPG was never that big on my list of games which I was kid back in the 90’s. Honestly I didnt have time or the patients for RPGs at all I was more of a Super Mario World guy. It wasn’t until I was in my mid twenties that I rediscovered Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, obviously much later than its original release on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) back in 1996. I know I might get some heat from some readers for my opening statment but did my mindset ever change. It’s a beloved classic in the role-playing genre and for good reason.

Developed by Square in collaboration with Nintendo, this game combined the world of Super Mario with turn-based RPG mechanics, creating a unique and captivating experience. It introduced players to a vibrant world filled with memorable characters, engaging storytelling, and innovative gameplay elements. The game design obviously still holds up today since Nintendo just recently annouced they are remaking the game for the Nintendo Switch.

Super Mario RPG Levels

The game begins with a cutscene Princess Toadstool sits peacefully on a hill outside Mario’s Pad, when she is suddenly kidnapped by King Bowser using the Koopa Clown Car. Mario hears her cry for help and exits his house, knowing Toadstool is in peril. He follows Toadstool and Bowser and ends up at Bowser’s Keep. So our story begins,

As the starting point of Mario’s adventure, the Mushroom Kingdom serves as a peaceful hub where players can interact with familiar characters, such as Princess Peach and Toad. While not a traditional level, it sets the stage for the grand journey ahead.

Marrymore: Marrymore is a whimsical level that takes place in a lively wedding-themed town. Players will encounter amusing NPCs, explore a beautiful garden, and participate in humorous wedding ceremonies. This level offers a refreshing change of pace from the more perilous areas of the game.

Booster’s Tower: Booster’s Tower is a vertical level filled with puzzles, platforms, and quirky enemies. Players must ascend the tower while solving puzzles and avoiding obstacles. The level culminates in a confrontation with Booster, a comical character who adds a touch of humor to the game.

Seaside Town: Seaside Town is a peaceful coastal level inhabited by Tadpoles and other marine creatures. Players can engage in side quests, interact with the locals, and even participate in a memorable music performance. The tranquil atmosphere of Seaside Town offers a pleasant respite from the more intense sections of the game.

Land’s End: Land’s End is a challenging and visually striking level that combines elements of platforming and puzzle-solving. Players must navigate treacherous cliffs, traverse floating platforms, and manipulate switches to progress. The level is known for its clever design and captivating aesthetics.

Nimbus Land, a wondrous realm perched high above the clouds, awaits our intrepid heroes with its majestic beauty and ethereal charm. As they ascend into this aerial paradise, Mario and his companions are greeted by the radiant splendor of a kingdom ruled by King Nimbus and Queen Nimbus. In this idyllic land of floating islands and enchanting architecture, they discover a realm where dreams take flight and imagination knows no bounds.

Smithy Factory: Hidden within the depths of Smithy’s Factory lies a realm dripping with mechanical malevolence and ominous energy. This nightmarish landscape, crafted by the twisted mind of Smithy himself, is a testament to the power and ambition of the Smithy Gang. Brace yourself as you traverse the assembly lines, where hulking machines churn out the fearsome Machine Mades—metallic replicas of the enemies Mario has faced throughout his grand adventure.

Super Mario RPG Glitches and Bugs

If you are a regular reader of our site then you would know we love our glitches and bugs. We know that no game is made perfectly. 

Infinite Coins Glitch: By using the “Lucky Jewel” item and a “Rock Candy” in battle, players can exploit a glitch that generates an infinite number of coins. This glitch can be useful for amassing wealth and purchasing rare items and equipment.

Experience Point Boosting: There are certain areas in the game where players can repeatedly encounter enemies to gain additional experience points. This method allows for leveling up characters more quickly and obtaining stronger abilities.
