Mortal Kombat 3 on SNES is still a classic fighting game that has stood the test of time. With its iconic characters, intense gameplay, and brutal fatalities, it’s no wonder that it remains a favorite among gamers today. However, for those looking for even more action and excitement, there was the quick released update Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 on SNES.
Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 is an updated version of the classic Mortal Kombat 3, featuring additional characters, new moves, and improved graphics. Cheats Kool Stuff & More
Ultimate MK3 has a unique cheat menu that gives players access to toggle cheats on and off at their choosing. While some of the cheats themselves are pointless (random lighting I’m talking about you) others are worth their weight in gold. ONE BUTTON FATALITIES!!
Kool Stuff Menu
On the main menu press Right, Up, B, B, A, Down, Up, B, Down, Up, B. You’ll here the gong if you entered it correctly and the new menu will appear. Kool Stuff allows you to turn off the times, add max Fatality time, play a mini-game, give you the option to pause the game, as well as seeing the game’s credits just in case your like me and cant beat the game.
Kooler Stuff Menu
Same deal for Kooler Stuff at the menu screen press Up, B, A, Left, Down, Y. This will give you options to enable 2x health, 2x damage, quick finishers (One Button), health recovery, and start with 30 credits.
Scott’s Stuff Menu
At the menu screen press B, A, Down, Down, Left, A, X, B, A, B, Y. Now this menu offers a few sneaky things, disable throws, blocks, sweeps, combos, enable dark fighting (annoying lights on and off), enable unlimited run, enable quick uppercut recovery, and unlock Shao Kahn as a playable character in a 2-player game.
Sound Test
This is overflow from the arcade version but if so inclined you can access the sound test menu just press Left, Down, Y, Y while on the main menu. You can relive those amazing level sounds for as long as you choose.
Tournament Mode
Finally, if UMK3 isn’t hard enough you can enable Tournament mode which to be honest is out of control. To enable tournament mode, hold L + R and press Start while on the main menu. You can also select a random team in tournament mode, press Up + Start on the character select screen.
Game Bugs & Glitches
While there a tonnes of glitches in the arcade version a few crossed over to the Snes as well. Here are some of our favourites.
The “Juggle Glitch” – This glitch allows players to juggle their opponents in the air, leading to devastating combos. To perform this glitch, simply knock your opponent into the air and then hit them with a well-timed attack as they fall back down. With a bit of practice, you can create some truly impressive juggle combos.
The “Double Smoke” Glitch – This glitch allows players to fight against two Smokes at the same time. To activate this glitch, start a two-player game and have both players select Smoke as their character. If both players select the same color, two Smokes will appear on the screen, making for a unique and challenging match.
The “Shang Tsung Morph” Glitch – This glitch allows Shang Tsung to morph into himself, creating a rather unusual and humorous sight. To activate this glitch, simply have Shang Tsung use his morph ability to transform into himself.
The “Unblockable Projectiles” Glitch – This glitch allows projectiles to become unblockable, making them much more deadly. To activate this glitch, have a player select Jax and activate his “Energy Wave” move. If the opponent blocks the first hit, subsequent hits will be unblockable, making for an easy victory.
